Welcome to NICHCY's Research Center! Looking for research-based information to
guide your work with children with disabilities? You've come to
the right place! We're pleased to connect you to the knowledge base
that the field has accumulated over years of investigation and practice.

Assessment and
Accommodations What accommodations are appropriate for which students?
How do accommodations affect student learning and their performance on
tests? This Evidence for Education addresses these and other
questions and explores the research base in this area. Commentary from
education professionals and examples from the field are included to highlight
practical tools and resources designed to help educators and families
determine appropriate accommodations for children with disabilities.
What
Works: Can We Say? This NICHCY Connections page takes a look at an
array of topics in education and the research we
have on each. We've focused primarily on published meta-analyses and syntheses
that add up the evidence to date on effective practice in each area.
Meet
the NICHCY Research Panel NICHCY is now deeply involved in collecting
and disseminating information about effective service delivery for
children with disabilities, whether that's early intervention or
special education. This is intended to improve programs and services
for the children, including infants and toddlers. There's a lot
of information out there on effective practice, and sifting through
it and identifying what will be useful to you is a huge task. To
help us, we have established a Research Panel of top-notch researchers
and experts in the field. Together they've been a tremendous asset
to the work we do and we'd like you to know more about them. More...
